This is the Happy Wednesday Newsletter: Updates on events, writing progress, celebrations, acknowledgments, community building and more.
This newsletter has been a long time coming as I wasn’t sure if I was going to do one at all. However I want to build a community to share my progress and rope in all of my cheer squad members. I’ll be sending out a newsletter on the first Wednesday of each month. For everyone who hasn’t seen me in a while here is a picture of me with my new glasses.
In progress
The Manuscript I’m currently working on for my official debut is Kindling. The story is a Young Adult fiction taking place in a small New England town with some teens just starting high school. Each member has a bit of strangeness about them such as being able to cast silence bubbles, throw small fire pebbles, or cough up gems and roses. The current word count as of writing this is 26k and the hope is to have this ready for beta reading in a month.
Brain Weasels
Other items in progress are learning of the publishing and book selling world of authors and it’s a bit crazy and fun. From the cost of a ISPN to setting up registrations on copywriting my works. Things that are in development are this newsletter, website, building my beta readers list and more.

I’ll be attending the Portland Book Festival Nov. 2nd 2024 this year and I am inviting everyone I know to come with me just to be part of this annual event. There is the option for me to submit my work to this event. As I am a debut author and I’ve not attended this event myself this is terrifying so clearly I should do it. The cut off date for submitting a literary work is June so I need my cheer squad to help encourage me to get my current work done for this deadline.
